Papers of John Eccles, 1911-1997 [manuscript]. 1911-1997.

The collection comprises: Eccles' typed autobiography; a one page listing of his ancestors dating back to 1781; a one page abbreviated curriculum vitae; a photocopied newspaper article in which Eccles' daughter Mary Mennis talks about her father on the occasion of his 90th birthday; & reproductions of two black and white photographs, one of Eccles & the other of an unidentified woman. There are also photocopies of two letters from Mary Mennis to the National Trust of Australia & the Victorian Department of Education. The letters outline a proposal to present a plaque to the Koroit School attended by Eccles as a child while his father was headmaster; & also encourage heritage listing of the headmaster's house which is alongside the school. The letters are accompanied by pictures of the school & house, as well as a photocopy of an Award Card of Merit received by Eccles while a student in 1911. Also includes transcriptions of family letters 1926-48; & photographs, cartoons & illustrations (some photocopied).
